What are the Advantages of Buying a New Construction Home

Whispering Pines: The Fredericksburg Model

Are you looking to buy a home but you are unsure of what you want? Do you feel like you can’t find your dream home? Well, maybe you should consider buying a new construction home! When you buy a new construction home, you’ll have choices and options to make your dream home a reality. On top of that there are so many advantages when you buy a new construction home that you will enjoy in the long run. Here are five of the many advantages of buying a new construction home!

1. Less Maintenance
Today’s homes are built specifically to minimize home maintenance. All that extra time you would have spent on a pre-owned home is now freed up and you can do whatever you want with that time. Spend time with your family or take up a hobby that you are passionate about. Whatever it is, you can easily spend your free time however you see fit when you buy a new construction house! Seriously, who wouldn’t love having more time on their hands to do what they love? It’s a win-win situation!

2. Best Locations with Amazing Amenities
Most new construction homes are built in planned communities, which are developed in up and coming, sought-after areas. This is particularly true when it comes to Judd Builders’ communities. All of our communities are all located in fantastic areas that are highly desired and include amazing amenities. From Brookshire’s spectacular views to Siena Place’s rich culture and entertainment, you can’t go wrong with a new construction home in these desirable areas!

3. Less Stress and More Family Time
When you work with Judd Builders, you get to see the home building process all the way through. There is no reason for you to feel stress while we build your dream home. Not only is the new construction process with Judd Builders less stressful, but you will also have more time on your hands because we will be doing all the work for you. Forget putting all that work into remodeling a pre-owned home, let Judd build a home for you and you can spend your time doing whatever you please!

4. Quality Workmanship
Here at Judd Builders we take pride in our building process and quality workmanship. So when you buy a new construction home with us we ensure that you get the quality you expect and the home you deserve. We use the best materials while we’re building and provide an extremely high level of fit and finish. We are committed to delivering the quality that makes a house a home so that every home buyer is satisfied with their choice.

5. Fewer Repairs
When you buy a new construction home, you won’t have to worry about making repairs any time soon. New construction means that everything is new. Unlike pre-owned homes, a new construction home hasn’t seen years of wear and tear. You won’t be replacing flooring, or re-painting walls, or fixing up home exteriors. Instead, enjoy all the perks of a new construction home and spend time with your family or enjoy activities you love to do.

Whether you gather in your personalized home or the community center, there’s always a place to meet with friends and build those connections!

Staying Healthy
Studies have shown that individuals that live in an active lifestyle community are much happier and healthier than those who don’t. Countless Amenities
Active lifestyle communities have it all including countless amenities. When you join a 55 and better community there are many amenities that make everyday living luxurious. Mowing your lawn and shoveling snow are a thing of the past. Reclaim your time and do what your heart desires. Meadow View Farms and Renaissance at Morgan Creek were designed to give residents more free time rather than housework.

Why a Smaller Space May Be Better

Sofa

The kids are all moved out, the grandkids visit every once in a while and you have too much space to care for. Do you really need all that space still? Here are the benefits of downsizing your home and finding a place that is smaller and hassle-free.

Preservation of Time and Resources

The average U.S. house size has increased from 1800 square feet in the 1980s to nearly 2500 sq. ft. in the 2000s, according to The Huffington Post. More square footage translates to more spending on resources, a bigger carbon footprint, and a bigger impact on the environment. In addition to that, you waste more time doing chores such as cleaning rooms you don’t even use. Your time could be better spent elsewhere during your retirement, from traveling to relaxing to taking up a new hobby.

Better Mental Health

Living in a small space may improve your mental health, says The Alternative Daily. That’s because you are less stressed worrying about the details of maintaining a larger home, improving your ability to relax, de-stress, and connect with your spouse or whomever you’re living with as you get older.

Save Money on Frivolous Stuff

The more space you have in your home, the more you’re likely to fill it up with useless stuff. From TVs and appliances to furniture and collectibles, you’re wasting money on filling space rather than using your home as a functional entity. When you downsize to a smaller home, you’re making an effort to prioritize your life and cut back on what’s unimportant in the grand scheme of things, says Freshome.

This doesn’t mean you can’t have nice things. After all, the whole reason for buying a new home at this stage of your life is to live well. From state of the art appliances to comfortable furniture and beautiful amenities, it’s still possible to live smaller yet have the things you need to make life easy.

Save on Energy

With a large home, you may have noticed your energy bills were through the roof. And with so many people living in the home, you were using up a lot of energy for heating and cooling, electronics, appliances, and water. With the kids out of the house, there’s no need to have those large rooms and big bills. Downsize into a smaller home and watch your energy bills plummet too. The use of energy efficient appliances, green construction, and more natural light can all help you save on energy and thus save the environment.

Here at Judd Builders, we offer smaller homes for those who are looking to downsize yet maintain their sense of comfort and luxurious living. Check out our smaller communities like Meadow View and Renaissance – contact us today to learn more.

What a Virtually “Maintenance-Free” Home Means

Elderly couple together at the kitchen

When you’re approaching retirement age and want to downsize from your current home, you may consider 55+ communities – not just for their smaller size but for their promise of virtually maintenance-free living. But what exactly does virtually maintenance-free mean? Let’s explore.

Many Baby Boomers facing retirement or actively in retirement have put a lot of work into maintaining the homes in which they raised their families. They set aside their weekends for 40 years to tackle chores like mowing the lawn, taking out the trash, raking leaves, and shoveling snow. Now that retirement is on the horizon, they are no longer interested in expending a lot of physical and mental energy investing in the maintenance of their homes.

They’re ready for something more: virtually maintenance-free living. If this sounds like you, it’s understandable that you would want a little more time to relax, swim in the pool, visit with the grandkids, have coffee with friends or take in a round of tennis. Your weekends are YOURS again when you’re part of a 55+ community.

That’s because 55+ communities offer a variety of maintenance chores included in your fees, such as:

  • Garbage collection
  • Recycling
  • Maintenance of shared spaces and facilities
  • Complete lawn care (mowing, trimming, weeding, raking, pest control)
  • Snow removal
  • Exterior maintenance (roof maintenance, repairs, paint touch ups)
  • Security

Judd Builders has a proven reputation throughout the Delaware Valley as a leader in designing and building virtually maintenance-free homes and superior lifestyle communities as part of its 55+ communities in the most beautiful locations. We welcome you to visit our two 55+ communities: Meadow View Farms and Renaissance at Morgan Creek. Renaissance is an adult 55+ clubhouse community in Quakertown, Bucks County PA offering an active, carefree lifestyle with an outdoor pool, fitness center, and library/business center. Meadow View Farms is nestled in historic Oley Township, Berks County, PA, featuring a community center, fitness center, and the peace of mind knowing you own the home and the land. You don’t get that with all 55+ communities!

If over-55 community living sounds good to you after years of maintaining your own home, call Judd Builders today. We would be happy to show you the models we have available.
